A little while ago I got hold of a Tube Notching attachment for the pillar drill…

This has enabled me to get on with the parts of the frame using round tube, which is basically the roll frame roof.
The smaller dark blue tubes in the roof and coming vertically down at the front of the roof were used as a jig to get the windscreen frame into the correct location.

There’ll be a further X in the top of the roof to finish it off, amongst other tubes that still need to go into the frame.

I’ve now gone to the point where I’ve run out of material so this has called a stop to play, it’ll be a couple of weeks before any more progress is made, as yet another overseas trip is coming up.

Before leaving home for the week, I had a chance to fit a few more tubes in at the rear of the car.
The result is shown below…

Trust me I am working to a plan with this, if you look through previous posts you’ll find a link to a 3D model of the completed frame, which hopefully the real one will look like when finished.

So far 36m of 25mm SHS has gone into the frame (bar the scrap) and now I’ve run out of tube, One more length should finish it off though hopefully (bar cockups).
