Engines being the shape they are are hard to measure and have many details that are not that straightforward to measure and then capture in a 3D CAD model.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Photogrammetry opens up the chance to create a 3D model of the engine direct from photographs, that obviously capture far more detail than otherwise would be sensible to spend the time creating.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-youtube wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Meshroom -- 3D Models from Photos using this Free Open Source Photogrammetry Software\" width=\"1200\" height=\"675\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/R0PDCp0QF1o?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer;
